Listing Description

The Aboriginal Sobriety Group provide care and support for Aboriginal people who wish to live an alcohol and drug ‘free’
lifestyle.

The Aboriginal Sobriety Group Inc is a not-for-profit organisation providing care and support to individuals, families and communities who wish to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle. We provide culturally appropriate pathways away from grief, loss, trauma and abusive lives.

The Aboriginal Sobriety Group Inc. values Aboriginal culture, customs, tradition and spirituality. We respect our clients, colleagues, partners and community. The ASG operates with integrity, honesty and accountability and implement quality service provision to ensure positive outcomes for our clients.

Services include

Homelessness
Provides accommodation, information, advocacy and referral to individuals, couples and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Eastern and Western Adelaide Aboriginal Homelessness Service

Our office is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Mobile Assistance Patrol (MAP)
MAP provides transport for individuals affected by alcohol and other drugs and at risk of harm to themselves or others from inner Adelaide City to places of safety. Any person, Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal, can access the Mobile Assistance Patrol services.

Inner City Youth Service

The Youth transport service provides the community and vulnerable youths at risk, transport out of town to a safe place. Transportation pickup is from the HUB(MYSA – Multi Cultural Youth South Australia) and Hindley Street Police Station.

The Youth transport service is available between 10.00 PM – 6.00 AM – Friday & Saturday nights.

Rehabilitation (Lakalinjeri Tumbetin Waal)
Lakalinjeri Tumbetin Waal (LTW) is a live-in, non-medical drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre for men and is located at Monarto, a one hour drive from Adelaide City.

Clients of ASG who have undertaken the Stabilisation Program and who require longer-term rehabilitation are referred to LTW.

Located on a farm at Monarto. Clients ‘live-in’ for a 12 – 24 week period and are assisted through a number of programs to recover from alcohol or other substance misuse lifestyles. Prior to entry, clients must undertake a needs assessment with ASG’s Assessment, Referral and Counselling team to ensure that they are ready for stabilisation and receive appropriate care.

Substance Misuse Program
Caseworkers provide individually tailored, effective and culturally appropriate drug and alcohol interventions for men and women.

Our goals are:

To provide a range of substance misuse services to meet the needs of community and to improve client access to drug and alcohol treatment and rehabilitation services and support.

First point of contact for drug and alcohol services and support
Drug and alcohol information and education
Drug and alcohol assessment
Crisis Intervention
Drug and alcohol referral, advocacy and case management support
Drug and alcohol outreach support
Community and Family based drug and alcohol interventions
Drug and alcohol Counselling
Interagency networking and capacity building

Colin Betty Gym & Boxing Club
The Colin Betty Gym & Boxing Club holds mixed gender and female only training sessions which are facilitated by a dedicated team of experienced volunteers.

The Gym is named in memory of Colin Betty who donated his time and love to the Gym for over two decades.

The ASG Boxing Club is a member of the South Australian Boxing Association.
