Listing Description

Career Employment Australia (CEA) is a not for profit, Registered Training Organisation (RTO 104).

The Indigenous Youth Mobility Pathways Project (IYMP) is part of the Australian Government’s Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS) funded through the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPM&C).

Career Employment Australia (CEA) is operating the Indigenous Youth Mobility Pathways Project (IYMP) and operates the project in 7 locations across Australia.

What is IYMP?

The project offers young Indigenous people from regional and remote communities the opportunity to move to a host location to participate in further education, training or Australian Apprenticeships.
These young people actively participate in gaining a qualification which will enable them to develop the skills they need to get a job in their community or elsewhere.
IYMP addresses the barriers to training, employment and education and provides holistic support to young Indigenous people whilst engaged in the project.
It is an innovative project designed to inspire, excite, educate and encourage the young people’s passion to achieve and attain their long term career goals.
IYMP Objectives

Improve access to training and employment opportunities in major centres.
Increase the number of young Indigenous people participating in accredited training.
Increase the number of Indigenous people employed in occupations in particular areas of community need (e.g. trades, nursing, accountancy, business management and teaching).
Support the economic development in remote communities by building the capacity of local Indigenous youth to take up skilled jobs in their communities.
